Created in 1900, Mangoustan's rum is a rum produced by Simon Frères (Paris). It is said to have been made to a recipe created by Napoléon Bonaparte.
The cane juice for Mangoustan's rum comes from Martinique and is distilled locally.
It is aged and bottled in France.
Brief :
Working for O-I (Owens-Illinois) France in 2020, I was involved in updating the engravings on the Mangustan's bottle.
My role was to recreate the client's label and create the 3D imagery for the new bottle.
Issues :
How do you make a bottle of amber rum and its contents virtually realistic ?
Objectives :
• Bringing glass packaging up to date.
• Highlighting new engravings.
• Design a label with an illustration.
• Create a new shade of rum in 3D.
• Create the right lighting for this type of 3D view.
